Grant Patten, information & communications professional, holds a BFA in Film/Video Studies from Ryerson's School of Image Arts and an ALA-accredited master's degree in Information Science from U of T's iSchool (specialization: Critical Information Studies, now renamed Critical Information Policy Studies). At U of T, Patten completed courses on user experience design, information architecture and ethnographic research, among other subjects. Patten is also an Akendi Certified User Experience Designer CXD™ (CXD-901-15-075).
Patten developed his creative sensibilities and project management skills at Ryerson, where he wrote and directed many short films and videos. He honed his research and writing skills at U of T, where he wrote many analytical papers on various information policy issues, including online governance and intellectual property. He also worked on many web-based projects in his time at U of T.
Patten was born and raised in Labrador City, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.
