Grant Patten, information & communications professional, holds a BFA in Film/Video Studies from Ryerson's School of Image Arts and an ALA-accredited master's degree in Information Science from U of T's iSchool (specialization: Critical Information Studies; now Critical Information Policy Studies). At U of T, Patten completed courses on user experience design, information architecture, requirements gathering and ethnographic research, among other subjects.
Patten developed his creative sensibilities and project management skills at Ryerson, where he wrote and directed many short films and videos. He honed his research and writing skills at U of T, where he wrote many analytical papers on various information policy issues, including online governance and intellectual property. He also worked on various web-based projects in his time at U of T.
Patten is also an Akendi Certified User Experience Designer CXD™ (CXD-901-15-075).
Patten was born and raised in Labrador City, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.
